31st May : Simon Franklin at The Stage Door

Along to the Door tonight to see my old chum Simon Franklin. Simon is a very versatile guitar player with a quirky turn of phrase and a healthy sense of detachment from current musical trends. Also playing is Caroline Dexter and Rob Thomm.

Due to a bizarre gardening accident I’m taking the night off from strumming duties and will be tending the mixing desk instead..

Albino 12th April + Paul Hawkins and others

I’ll be along to see Albino at the Stage Door this weekend. They have a cracking new album coming out soon and will be previewing some tracks from said meisterwerk. Also playing will be the excellent and supremely eccentric Mr Paul Hawkins . I remember first seeing this man some years back in solitary mode at The River Bar and am glad to see his derangement meeting general approval. It’s about time we had some weirdness in the music scene after years of chin stroking minor chord changes.
I’m playing cajon for the Albinos , apparently, which should be interesting given my penchant for 5/4 time signatures.

March 15th - The Stage Door

Shazam ! like a blue bolt of lightning from the fabled God of Thunder Thor himself I’m striking down at the Stage Door this weekend to support the very lovely and extremely talented Alice Doyne. The show starts at 8pm - so batten down the hatches and head on down to Waterloo , it’s going to be a bumpy night.
